Can i paint wood trim without sanding. It is a shellac-based primer so you wont be able to wash out your brush with water but it is worth the hassle. Step away from the sandpaper because there are actually a few reliable ways to paint wooden furniture without sanding it first at all. Clean the trim thoroughly. Dont judge my painting skills by the looks of my cans I am messy but I get the job done and I have never figured out a good trick to pouring paint out of the can without getting the can all. Spray or wipe it on scour it with a scouring pad then wipe it off.
